Resident Reminder

Harris County Municipal Utility District No. 449 (HCMUD 449) Board of Directors would like to remind residents to lock their vehicles, hide their belongings and valuables, and remove valuable items from their vehicles, not leaving them in plain sight, during this holiday season.

During the holidays, residents may see an increase in vehicle break-ins, porch pirates, and jugging incidents. It is important for each resident to do what they can to prevent thefts and protect their belongings when possible.

What is jugging? Jugging is a type of theft where a criminal follows a person who has withdrawn cash from a bank or financial institution and then steals their money. This is a crime of opportunity and often happens around the holidays. What are porch pirates? Click here to find out more.
