Resident Update: Porter Ranch

Jul 1, 2024

As residents of Porter Ranch, you may have noticed the ongoing Porter Ranch trail amenity project. This project includes the installation of a looping trail, two pedestrian bridges, and a pier over the water.

During July, the construction will focus on driving wood piles into the pond to support the pier. This work will primarily take place over water, with a barge-mounted pile driver being used to install the pier piles to the proper depths. The construction will occur from 7 am to 7 pm, and due to weather delays this spring, the contractor may also work weekends to make up for lost time and stay on schedule. The pile installation is expected to generate a significant amount of hammering noise, especially during the first two weeks of July.

Once the piles are in place, the pier support structure and finish decking will be installed. Barges and construction equipment will be anchored in the water during this phase of the construction.

The pedestrian bridges are scheduled for delivery and installation in the last week of July. Large cranes will be used to off-load, assemble, and place the bridges in two locations. The bridges will arrive on large flatbed trucks, and only one of the two Porter Ranch entrances may be closed at any given time during the delivery.

July will be a busy month for construction in Porter Ranch. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time. Please remember that the trail amenity project is currently an active construction zone. Residents are asked to refrain from accessing the trail and any of the amenities already installed during both work and non-work hours until the project is complete.
